    There are many famous costume hats that can be found throughout history, hats that need only be seen to bring to mind the person or thing that made them famous.

    One of the most famous costume hats is the tall red and white striped chimney hat worn by Dr. Seuss's  Cat In The Hat . In almost every primary school nation-wide on March 2, children all over the country create their own version of the colorful chimney style hat. March is the month of Dr. Seuss's birthday and the gift of his literature is so important in the educational world. To recognize and celebrate his great contribution to the world of education and to children learning to read all over the country, the first week of March is dedicated to Dr. Seuss and his work. His Costume hat is often given to the younger classes in some schools along with a breakfast of  Green Eggs and Ham , one of his most famous works.

    Another famous hat is the jester had from medieval times. These famous hats still appear in ski caps, party hats and costume hats for Halloween costumes.     In the most recent years a very famous pirate has taken the costume industry by storm and as such, so has his famous costume hat. Captain Jack Sparrow, a character played by Johnny Depp, has given the pirate costume a complete overhaul; most undoubtedly with the brown leather costume hat he wears in the film. This hat is now the  ideal pirate attire by most children everywhere when playing the make-believe game of pirates.
